We’ve been seeing this design on the street, on the runway, in offices and in parties for long and it seems houndstooth design is here to stay. History of houndstooth -Also known as dogstooth, dogtooth or dog’s tooth, is a duotone textile pattern characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes. The original houndstooth is in black and white, although other colours are now available. These checks originated in woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowland but are now used in many other materials. In an early reference to houndstooth De Pinna , NY city–based men’s and women’s high-end clothier founded in 1885, included houndstooth checks along with gun club checks and Scotch plaids as part of its 1933 spring men’s suits collection.(info via wiki) The Style – Houndstooth now is trending in all forms of apparels, skirts, jackets, tops, dresses, you name it. Various online blog shops offer these designs are affordable prices.
