I love trying new products and my constant aim is to look for products that don’t have too much chemicals in them and are healthy for the skin and body. In that process, I end up trying many things, so I thought why not share it with you guys in my beauty haul posts along with ratings so you know about the great products and also have a sense of how effective they are.
This week I tried 3 new things that I had heard a lot about and they all ended up as great buys, products I am definitely going to be continue using.
1. Chamomile Cleansing Butter
Rating : 4.5 / 5
Price : USD 16
The best part about this balm is it literally feels like butter but not so oily. I am in love with the texture. For the longest time I have been looking for a products that I can just rub on my face and it will remove the makeup. The Chamomile Cleansing balm just does that and plus it does not dry your skin.
How to use it : Just take a bit out of the box and rub it all over you face gently and wash it off. You can also put a bit on a cotton pad and pat it around to remove your makeup.
The only thing the balm does not effectively do is remove your eye liner. So for that The Body Shop does have a Chamomile eye removing oil which is next on my list to try. Meanwhile I continue using almond oil to remove my eye makeup. The best part about the balm is that your face feels so smooth even after washing it that you don’t even need a moisturiser after.
If you can’t find this, a more expensive but effective option is the Clinique ‘take the day off’ cleansing balm. It works pretty well too. (All links are below to purchase them)
2. Sonia Kashuk Lipstick
Rating : 4.7 / 5
Price : USD 9.99
The problem with my lips is that it is extremely dry so I am very picky with the lipsticks I use. I either go for lip stains which are smooth like Sephora or ABH or extremely moisturizing satin finish lipstick. I love matter lipsticks but they trend to dry out my lips. However I got a chance to try out this lipstick by Sonia Kahsuak in “currant” shade and the formula is perfect for dry lips. No matter how chapped your lips are, they glide so smoothly over your lips and provide just the right amount of sheen. Oh and they also contain SPF 16 which protects you from the sun and thus prevents your lips from further drying up.
I’m also in love with the colour. It is in the middle of red and berry and is definitely one of my top picks as a daily wearable lip colour. I will be posting a picture of me wearing the lipstick on my instagram this weekend. So make sure to follow me there to catch a snap of it.
3. Insta Natural Moroccon Rose Water
Rating : 4.3 / 5
Price : USD 11.97
For the longest time I have been lax on using toners. When I do, I usually go for the 3-1 Clinique toner. However this time I decided to give a natural toner a go. My mum told me I should try rose water as it is one of the best natural toners. She is in Asia and imports hers ( Forest Essentials) from India and told me to find a complete natural organic one if possible.
I found highly rated reviews of Insta Natural which is not organic but 100% pure rose water and no artificial fragrance or any added chemicals or preservatives. I ordered mine and I’m pretty satisfied with it.
How to use it : I use it twice a week. I take few drops on a cotton pad and dab it on my skin after washing my face. Post that I put a moisturiser. Usually toners can tend to dry your skin but so far this product has no such signs and that is why I am definitely keeping it on my rack.
The reason I give it 4.3 and not more is that as much as I like the product I haven’t seen a significance different in my skin as yet. But then again It has just been 2 weeks of using it. If I do find any difference in a month or so, be sure I will review the ratings.
