The Crispy Corner was born out of my love for fashion, trends and style. More than anything, it was created to help people understand that style is something very personal to each one and to discover that, one must first, embrace themselves fully. There is a very famous saying; ” If you can’t be truthful to yourself, how do you expect others to tell you the truth “. Style works in a similar way. Only when you honestly understand yourself from within , can you find the right garb to portray your identity to a world whose attention span on you, is perhaps just 3 seconds.
The Crispy Corner was hence never created to be about me. It was always about others. It was about helping them find their persona by giving them tips, suggestions and bringing the world of fashion and trends to them. If I can make a difference to even one person in any “fashionable” way, my purpose of blogging is achieved.
However I succumbed. After much prodding and coaxing, I succumbed to the world of ” I , me , myself”. Someone very dear told me ” When people see that you embody what you write, they will trust you more”. That sentence just gripped my heart, because I have always believed that faith in the blogging world is everything. Faith that the writer blogs what’s best for your mind, soul and body. Hence, I yielded.I decided to share with my readers, a bit of what goes on in my head while dressing up.Perhaps, in this way, they can understand me , the blog and themselves much more better.
From now onwards, whenever I get a chance, I promise to share with you my personal style diary and styles of those I fancy ( guest styles)
- Occasion : On shoot
Who says stylists can only dress others? For the record, yes, I love to style others but I personally binge on trying different styles and outfits all the time. My wardrobe is my favorite place.
- Outfit : Black knit top ( Zara ) ; Pink Flare midi skirt ( street wear) , Black Pumps ( DMK) , Pink beaded neckwear ( street wear )
Did I mention before how much I love flare skirts? If not, yes I absolutely adore them. There was a time I was all about dresses but now my homies are my skirts and pants.
- Style tip :
If you have broad shoulders, flare skirts are an amazing option to make your body look more visually balanced. If you have thin legs and feel conscious about wearing flare, go for an inch below the knee or above length of skirt and pair them with boots. Alternatively, opt for maxi skirts. They are in trend and do wonders to flatter the figure.
I would love to hear what you think about this look. Do drop in a comment
