Heading to New York and looking for Instagram worthy food spots which are best for pictures as well as taste. Here are my top recommendations.
New York is one of my favorite places to go to over long weekends and every-time I go, I love exploring cute places that are instagram-worthy coupled with some tasty drinks and food. So when my mum and sister came over last time, we made a girls trip to NYC and I took them to some of my favorite food/drink/dessert places. Check them out.
While You Were Young
This is the perfect place to take your girls for a cocktail happy hour. Each cocktail is curated to be totally instagram-worthy. Not only do they have amazing colors, but they are also super tasty as well.
The ambience is super cute with neon wall signs, marble counter tops and pretty flowers.
I got the frośe ( no surprises there, since I am obsessed with a good rośe.) My mum got the mango plan B (seasonal) and my sister got ” while we were young” which has the most gorgeous purple tint.
I highly recommend getting a reservation in advance as the place is small so there are limited seats

Black Tap NYC
Now, who hasn’t heard about Black Tap? Their death-by milkshakes are famous! I am obsessed with anything chocolate so I picked the Brooklyn Blackout which was chocolate frosted rim with mini choco-chips topped with chocolate brownie, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Isn’t that insane. My sister and I shared one and we still couldn’t finish it. But if you are not a chocoholic, their other shakes are amazing as well. My second favorite is the cookie shake. If you want to add to those wonderful calories, their burgers and onion rings are pretty good too.

The lighting in the restaurant wasn’t the best since we went late evening, so here is a clearer pic of the amazing and super indulgent milkshakes courtesy City Guide NY.

Spot Bar Dessert
I had heard about this spot from friends. Quite an understated place with some really creative desserts. I ordered their “Harvest” and immediately fell in love. Shaped liked a potted plant, this dessert has some yummy ingredients in it. The green stalk sticking out of the pot is a mint stem. The soil itself is a soft cheesecake topped with oreo crumbs. The cheesecake has layers of berries and is served with earl grey milk tea with a side of raspberry sorbet. YUMMY I say. They also have an amazing matcha lava cake.

Palma Italian Restaurant
Not only does this restaurant have a super cute indoor-outdoor feel, but the food is actually fantastic. The decor is so rustic and pretty that I highly recommend reserving a spot outside. Palma has some fantastic wine and the gnocchi is to die for.

Soft Swerve Ice Cream
Another super cute dessert place I spotted by aimlessly roaming the streets of NYC. Their swirls are super creamy and come in 4 flavors – Ube Purple Yam, Macapuno, HK Milk Tea and Black Sesame. They have various topping options so you have plenty to choose from. I usually get the Ube Purple Yam and HK Milk Tea.

Bar Primi
Are you a frośe fan? Then this place is for you. Their frośe’s is one of the nicest and prettiest that I have had. Plus their pasta’s are fairly good too. This place can get pretty busy so once again, I recommend reserving ahead, especially on weekends.

So next time you visit NYC, try these places out. Do you have a favorite insta-worth spot you would recommend? Let me know. I would love to try it next I go back.
