If any fashion rule book tells you to not mix prints, it is time to discard that book. Today’s rule break is the new rule. You can mix anything you want as long as it is styled well.

The key to mixing prints is to make sure they are harmonious in some way – either print size, color, texture,tones ,etc.

I mixed my floral printed top with a pair of white striped black flare culottes. My top had floral prints in it with colors of black and white which was the perfect overlay of my pants. Hence despite being so different, both went together perfectly well.

The other type of pairing works when one print is dominant and the other an accent. My floral top is unique so it is dominant. It can’t be worn with everything. Whereas my pants are fairly neutral and can be paired with anything. So often mixing dominant prints with accent ones work very well.

My makeup was simple with a hint of soft pink lipstick and some nude heels.
