“Want to see Flamingos? Stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Aruba where pure bliss is a major feeling”
Healing is such an important thing in my life. When I get up by the sea instead of the unwanted noise of the street, it truly makes my day. Which is why Kaushik and I decided to visit Aruba, a place we had heard so much about.
We always wanted to visit the Caribbean islands apart from Mexico which we had visited multiple times earlier.
So we booked our tickets to Aruba around Summer Last year (July) and headed off for ten days worth of sheer bliss.
When it came to choosing a hotel, we opted for the Renaissance Hotel for two primary reason
a) It was under the Marriott chain of hotels which Kaushik had a lot of points left
b) You have full and free access to flamingos – Yup, Aruba has and Island which you can visit that has tons of pink flamingos and if you stay in the Renaissance, you have free access to the island. If you don’t stay in Renaissance, you have to book and pay to visit the island.
Where is the Renaissance Hotel, Aruba?
Aruba is an Island country in the mid-south of the beautiful Caribbean Sea. After one long and a short flight and of course a layover, we finally reached this beautiful country. Renaissance Hotel in Aruba is located against the sparkling cityscape of Oranjestad and is truly a resort made as a therapy for your soul.
The two areas of Renaissance Hotel, Aruba
The Renaissance Hotel has two parts catered to two categories of travellers. While booking your hotel, you can choose which part of the hotel you would like to stay at.
(a) Renaissance Marina Hotel
This area is adults only. The Marina Hotel has it’s own adults pool, two casinos and a mind-blowing nightlife, promising to make your time worth it. It has a wide range of newly renovated and picture-perfect rooms to choose from. Of course, we took the Marina! Who wants to miss all that party all night. All I can say is that the room was an absolute beauty.
The walls of the room were elegantly white. However, the blue touch on the carpet and the sofa set brought some interesting elements to our room. I also loved the fact that they had these dimly lit hanging lamps from the ceiling which were bombs. The best part was the balcony throwing a straight view across the street exploring the blue Caribbean sea. Overall, I loved the fact that our room was peaceful yet close to enough to the sea for a view.
(b) Renaissance Ocean Suites
Now the interesting part about this area is that the suites and room is meant for all. It is particularly popular with families with kids. This area is also attached to a series of luxury spas and direct access to the ocean.
Want to see Flamingos?
If you stay in the Renaissance, you can easily take a FREE boat to and fro to the Flamingo Islands which is around 20-30 mins from the hotel by boat. If you are not staying in the hotel, you have to book a trip to the island.
Book a Cabana at the Flamingo Island
One of my top recommendations would be to book a cabana while you are at the Flamingo Island. the cabanas are private, have an outdoor over the sea hammock and comes with free floaties and snorkelling gear. When you book a cabana, you also get complimentary Champagne, soft drinks, and water that will keep you hydrated.
It’s totally worth the money. Kaushik and I booked the cabana for the full day and had so much fun. We even made some lifelong friends with the people who were in the neighboring cabanas.
Where to eat at the Renaissance Hotel in Aruba
The Renaissance Hotel luckily has an all-inclusive option which we took. If you are someone who likes to laze around and spend time at the hotel, getting the all-inclusive option is great especially because Renaissance has a wide variety of dining options and cuisine.
So if you want to see these gorgeous pink flamingos, stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Aruba.
