The Crispy Corner produces numerous articles on style, beauty, trends, clothes so on and so forth.Ever wondered who produces these articles and what she feels about fashion?
Meet our editor, Nupur Singh, and get to know her better through the below snippets reflecting her take on fashion.
“I could go from a glam diva to being a nerd in a loose tee within a day and there is nothing wrong with that.Fashion is not defined by just what you wear.It is defined by what you wear, where. That is important. If I am wearing a gown to a movie that is not fashion neither is wearing slippers to a club.It is about being comfortable yet appealing to your target audience” .That very balance is called fashion” – Nupur Singh, The Crispy Corner
– When and how did you start this blog?
The Crispy Corner was started in August 2013. As a kid,I used to breathe fashion. Cosmo and Vogue used to be strewn around my house.Despite that, I made my share of fashion faux pas while growing up. Knowing how much there is to learn and experiment, I started reading up on everything I could get my hands on and trying all sorts of clothes. Loving to pose for the camera added to passion for dressing up and taking pictures. To share my trysts with personal style and experience, I started this blog. Later on, after I did my certification in image consulting, this became a medium to reach out to people and help them discover style tips and what is happening in the fashion world.
– What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion to me is a way to express yourself without having to talk about it. There is no right or wrong in fashion. It is all about discovering the balance in being comfortable in your own skin while creating a certain appeal in the eyes of others. Fashion is everywhere not just in your clothes. When I look at something in a shop or on someone, I always think about how and with what can I pull that off. I may not buy it, but my mind definitely tries to explore and experiment with it further. I believe that is how you understand fashion better.
– Who are your favorite designers and why?
I love it when fashion week starts. It is an absolute treat to the eye to see how trends change from season to season. It is also interesting to observe how fashion varies according to the designer. Balmain and Dior are my classics. In the contemporary designers, I adore, Ralph & Russo, Elie Saab, and Ralph & Lauren and Blumarine.
– What is your favorite perfume?
Miss Dior by Dior and Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret. I also love Nina Ricci. Just like my wine, I am into fruity tones even with my Parfum.
– What is your favorite style?
My style is very mood based. I can fluctuate from a short skirt to a full – sleeved jumpsuit in a day. But if I have to pick a current favorite, it would be wearing crops with high waist boho pants or capes with skinny jeans.
– What is the one fashion advice you would give to your readers?
Focus on the fitting. Unlike the common misconception, fitting does not equate to tight clothes. It means well fitted. You could be of any body shape or size but if you wear fitted clothes, one that tapers according to your size, you will always stand out. Loose and ill-fitted apparels give you a tardy image.
