Best Places To Eat In Miami | My Personal Favorites

So this summer, I had a chance to go to Miami twice, once for my friend’s bachelorette and the other time, with my husband for a quick birthday getaway.

Miami has some really good food and specializes in Cuban and Latin food primarily. But apart from that, there are tons of other cuisines that are worth trying. From all the places I tried, these were my favorite.

Sugarcane Bar and Grill

What I loved about this place is that it has a variety of options in terms of food. The menu has three sections  – tapas, sushi, and grill. I particularly liked the sushi rolls and tapas alot. The drinks are pretty yummy as well.

Mandolin Aegean Bistro

If you want to be transported to the Greek islands, this is the place to go. This place has blue and white decor, similar to what you will find in Greece. The food is a mix of amazing greek and Mediterranean dishes. The white wine sangria is one of the best I’ve had. Also try the Manti dumplings, which is minced beef dumplings in yogurt based sauce. It was my favorite.

La Caretta

Now this one is not for everyone. When we went to Miami, we asked the local people where they eat – this is something my husband, Kaushik and I do wherever we travel. Ask the locals where they eat and you will get to taste the most authentic food of the place. La Caretta is not located in the fanciest of location but it was super crowded, which told us how popular the place is.  However, the service is super fast. La Caretta is mostly traditional Cuban food which is pretty finger licking. Must Try for sure!

Located in Wynwood which is such a nice place to walk around, this restaurant has Asian food but with a barbeque fusion as well as sushi. Some of my favorites were the sushi and duck. So succulent and tasty. Plus after dinner, you can roam around the Wynwood walls and get your art fix.

Call me Gaby

So the Italians in Miami told us that this place has the best pizza, and they were right. The food is very authentic and tasty. Though this place can get super crowded so make sure you get a reservation in advance. The outdoor seating is like a garden and super pretty to sit at.

Bird & Bone

OMG! The fried chicken and the biscuits are to die for. Try the fried chicken tacos as well. So good. They also have the option for bottomless mimosas. Plus the ambiance is great. They have indoor and outdoor seating option. Make sure to get the outdoor seating which is super al fresco and chill.

The Local House

Extremely cute restaurant by the beach and know for their brunch. However, they don’t take brunch reservations on Open Table over the weekend so it’s best to call them as this place can get super packed. Definitely a haven for Instagrammers as this place is really photo-worthy and the food is delectable. I especially loved the french toast.

Broken Shaker

Edgy, quirky and fun – that’s what this place is. It has so much character but at the same time, it’s so vibrant.  The outdoor area has some couch seating and tables with a nice little pool off to the side. The drinks and food are really good and they also have a DJ playing. I would surely recommend this place for pre-drinks especially if you are going for a full dinner. If not, get some snacks and drinks and chill with the amazing music.

Other notable mentions we really enjoyed were Havana 1957 ( amazing drinks),  Makoto for sushi and Byblos for the Mediterranean. We also enjoyed drinks at Prohibition and Dirty Rabbit.
