In my previous ask-me post I received a lot of questions around beauty, skin-care and hair. I am not some beauty or skin-care guru but if there is one thing I would tell my readers , that would be – as much as you should be comfortable in your own skin, you do need to take care of it.
There are few things that I religiously follow and some products that are my life-line and in this post I am going to share them with you.
- Too Faced Lip Primer
I love wearing lipstick but I realise lips are the most taken-for-granted part of the face when it comes to taking care. I tend to get dry lips. To prevent that and make sure my lips are hydrated, I exfoliate it with sugar once in a week and apply a lip-primer every time before I apply any lipstick. Lip Primers not only help to bring out your lip colour and make them last, they also protect your lips and keep them moist. I personally love the lip-primer from Too-Faced as it is smooth and does not feel heavy while applying. Moreover I have noticed, my lipsticks tend stay much longer when I use it.

2. Marc Anthony Argan Oil Serum
I have very fine straight hair, almost like baby hair. I have always struggled to manage it, especially in a windy place like San Francisco. It tends to get tangled very easily. This was before I discovered the amazing Argan Oil a couple of years ago. Most argan oil in the market work pretty well but I particularly like the one from Marc Anthony as it is very light and does not feel sticky at all. Though I must admit, it is very hard to find this in the US even though Walgreens and CVS supposedly retail it. It is almost never in stock. You can however order it online the way I do as it is indispensable to my hair-care. In Asia and UK, it is an easier find.
Retail Price : US $ 5.99 ( 1.6 fl oz)
3. Clinique Moisturising Lotion
Clinique has always been my go-to brand for skin-care. I ‘m not so much into face-wash but I never skip moisturising my face before I sleep. This lotion by Clinique which is suitable both for men and women has particularly suited me well over the years and I’ve been a loyal to it since then. The dramatically different moisturising lotion doesn’t have the best smell but works really well for dry skin like mine. If you however have sensitive skin, I’d say opt for the gel version or the moisture surge.
Retail Price : US $ 23 (4.2 ounce)
4. Chanel Eye & Lip Makeup Remover
I have tried many make-up removers. Usually there are many good ones for the face and you use baby or natural oil for the eye. However, when it comes to the lip I find it hard to find good removers that remove my entire lip colour quickly without drying it up or causing it to chap. I discovered the Chanel lip makeup remover when I was in the Chanel store trying lipsticks. The lip-remover the beautician there gave me in between my lipstick trials just worked amazing well. Almost felt like oil yet removed all the lip stains. I bought the remover then and there and since then there has been no looking back. The Demaquillant Yeux Intense is great for sensitive lips, eyes and contact lens wearers. It is particularly soothing as it contains water cornflower extract and rose water extract.
Retail Price : US $ 34 (100 ml )
5. Ritual Magnolia and Pink Pepper Perfume
I am a complete perfume junkie and you’ll find many of them on my shelf right from Bombshell to Miss Dior. Different scents for different occasions. However, during my last trip to Netherlands I stumbled upon a perfume boutique called Rituals. The fragrance just drove me in and I ended up buying the Magnolia Pink Pepper Perfume for myself and couple others for friends and family. The biggest reason I love Ritual products is that they use natural, renewable and organic ingredients and safe alternatives for anything nature cannot provide. It is not so easy to find such organic perfumes so I make sure I stock it back the moment it gets over. Not to forget, the smell is yummilicious.
Their men collection is really good as well and my husband simply loves the Fresh Cypress and Tangerine perfume.

Every person’s skin and hair is very different and you have to figure out what works best for you. The best being, try and use as little chemicals and products as possible, but if you have to and if you are someone who uses makeup, make sure you use good products. There are some things where you should never compromise on quality and the biggest one being things you use on your body, the only thing that you live in and live for.
We heart you,♥
