I have spoken about using essential oils a couple of times and I stress on it as it has made a great deal of difference in my beauty routine in terms of going all natural. Today I will tell you a little more about 3 kinds of oil that I use time to time in my routine and have been extremely nourishing to my skin and hair.
These products have not been sponsored and I speak out of experience to help you reach your beauty best.
Almond Oil – For The Stubborn Makeup on Your Eyes
I have tried a couple of makeup removers. Either they make my skin too dry or don’t remove the make up well enough. In both cases, it can be damaging to the skin especially around the eye which is one of the most sensitive areas on our face. When I discovered almond oil, it got immediately added to my beauty rack because of two prime reasons –
- I have found many makeup removers thats are great for sensitive skin but does not necessarily remove eye make up well.Almond oil on the other hand works extremely well for stubborn eye makeup.Since it is all natural, it is pretty smooth on the skin and keeps it well moisturized while cleaning the makeup off.
- Almond Oil can be applied on the brow and eyelashes before sleeping as it helps to promote hair growth. So if you notice eyelash on your cotton pad every time you clean your face, time to start applying some almond oil on your eye hair. Mix it with some olive oil for even better effect.
This product has been an eye-saver. You can also add a drop to your current makeup remover to make it less harsh. Alternatively coconut oil also helps but sometimes can sting your eyes if you are not careful.
I use : Almond Oil by Now Solutions. Retails at USD 8.35 (16 Oz)
Grape Seed Oil – To Tone Your Face
Twice a week before I sleep, I apply two drops of grape seed oil over my face. Grape seed oil is known for its anti-aging and antioxidant properties. I have always noticed my skin feeling more smooth the next day after I use it.Though this product can get too oily which might make some people uncomfortable but the benefits are immense. It’s most effective when you put it right before you sleep. Make sure to put a towel on the pillow so that the oil from you face does not stain the pillow when you toss and turn.
I use : Now Solutions Grape seed Oil. Retails at USD 7.06 (16 Oz)
Amla Oil – To Nourish Your scalp
Oil usually doesn’t suit my scalp and as I have a combination of -oily scalp and dry hair. Coconut oil or olive oil tends to make my hair limp and sticky so I refrain from using any kind of oil on my scalp. But in a city like San francisco, where the water is so harsh, I need something that helps to retain the moisture of my hair. Amla (indian gooseberry) oil is one exceptional product that I go to for nourishment. The best part is that minutes after you apply it, your hair doesn’t feel oily at all. I would almost compare its function and feel to a hair serum except that I use serum on my hair ends after washing my hair whereas I apply amla oil on my scalp before washing my hair. Amla oil when massaged well is also known for promoting blood circulation of your scalp that promotes hair growth.
I usually apply it once a week an hour before I shampoo or the night before. I apply a bit on my scalp and a bit on my ends.
For someone who can’t use oils on scalp, this has worked wonders for me.
I use : Optimum Amla Legends Rejuvenating Oil. Retails at USD 7.69 (5 Oz)
