Antioxidents keep this activity in check and helps to reduce chances of cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. - Poultry and Milk : Poultry and milk must be purchased with care.Do not opt for cheap poulty and milk. Many companies induce hormones in these products to help them last longer and taste better.Avoid artificially induced hormones if you can’t afford organic products when it comes to poultry and milk.

Exfoliate 2-3 times a week for oilier or younger skin and twice for a dry or more mature skin.If you have a really sensitive skin, opt for a gentle exfoliator and exfoliate once a week.If you don’t have an exfoliator, you can use a simple combination of honey with sugar or salt to act as a natural exfoliator. This combination can also help you to remove blackheads on your nose if done regularly.
Alcohol
Wine : After a certain age in life, your body will not be able to take too much alcohol.Vodka, whiskey and beer is something you should drink in limited quantity after the age of 30-35.Not only is it harmful to your liver but adds sugar and calories to your body when combined with mixers.Wine however, is something you can opt as an alternative. Many people drink wine only because it represents a status symbol. Most don’t even know where and how wine is made.Do not be one of those.Try and learn more about wine and get used to its taste.Join a wine class or go for a wine tasting session.Understand the difference between pinot, zinfandel, merlot, cabaret sauvignon, etc. If taken in moderate quantity, it is a good addition to your lifestyle post 30.
In fact studies reveal a glass of red wine a day may even cut your risks of heart attack, blood pressure and stroke.Red-wine tannins contain procyanidins, which protect against heart disease. Wines from Sardinia and southwest France have more procyanidins than other wines. (Source: a study at Queen Mary University in London, published in Nature, 2006)
Eating Out/Diet
80-20 Rule : Dieting by giving up every fatty food, sugar and junk in the long run has found to be not beneficial.Depriving your body of such things will just increase your cravings. You will notice yourself dreaming and thinking about food all the time.To avoid this and sustain a healthy lifestyle, do not go on extreme diets but follow the 80-20 rule.According to this rule, you should remain healthy and follow a healthy lifestyle 80% of the time. The other 20 % can be spent in indulgence. This could translate to having 1-2 cheat day per week.Once a week cheat day will motivate you to work on your healthy lifestyle since you can exercise and look forward to eating things you like.80-20 rule will also help you adjust the days you cannot avoid eating out due to meetings or parties.Binge drinking is not part of the 80-20 rule as binge drinking at any time is considered unhealthy.
Conversations
2 minutes in a lift conversation : How do you make an impression when you meet someone for just 2 minutes in a lift. How do you quickly say something to make sure the person remembers you esp if it is someone higher up than you esp in an office environment.
Do’s
Step 1: Greet and introduce yourself ( this is to make sure the other person knows your name)
Step 2:If it is someone you know, mention how you know them. If it is at work, you can mention where you heard about them or if you read about them somewhere.People always like hearing about themselves. It will help to get you noticed
” Hi I am ABC, I read about you recently in the XYZ article” or “HI, I am ABC, aren’t you XYX, my friend was recently telling me about you and your great work”
If you don’t know that person, ask – “Hi , I am ABC, and you would be? “.Don’t hesitate to break the ice
Step 3 :End on a positive note of a prospective meeting.Phrases like ” Great to meet you.Hope to catch you later” or ” Nice meeting you,I’ll drop you an email sometime ” or ” Lets catch up soon” are useful.
Don’ts :
- Try not to talk too much about yourself. No one likes a bragging person in their first meet.
- Do not use too much of phrases like ” you know”, ” as I was saying” ,” like”, “do you get what I mean”.These phrases are commonly used to buy time to think what to say but does not sound great in a speech.Use it limitedly.
Relationship
Make efforts to reduce monotony : Kim Kardashian said she treats Kanye everyday like it is his b’day. They key to a relationship is to limit monotony.Long term relationships can tend to get monotonous.Monotony is known to be the number one reason for couples having affairs..It is important to make effort to constantly spice things up. Surprise your lover or send them texts when they do not expect, plan a date or an impromptu trip. This gets harder after having kids but make time even if it means marking it on a calendar.Relationship should be about having fun and not become a drudgery.
Family
Call : Most of us have a love-hate relationship with our family. We love them yet we ignore them.We hate them yet we care about them.We dismiss them yet we need them.Life is short and we never know when we might lose a relationship due to circumstances or death.Instead of calling your mother or father bugging, appreciate that they care.If you are away from them, make sure you are in touch with them via text regularly and call them at least once a week.In a survey done , the number one regret of dying people has been not giving enough time and attention to their loved ones.Don’t be one of them.Let your loved ones know you love them. The biggest gift you can give your family is your time.
